The Ozzfest tour has been hit with tragedy after two fans were killed during Thursday night’s (Aug. 16, 2007) show in New Jersey. According to reports, both deaths were alcohol and drug-related. Friends of the men said that they had taken cocaine, marijuana and alcohol before and during the show.

While deaths are not unheard of at large rock festivals, they are unusual at outdoor spaces like the PNC Bank Arts Center, which opened in 1968 as the Garden State Arts Center and has a capacity of 17,500. A spokesman for the Turnpike Authority said that the two deaths on Thursday, when attendance was just over 13,000, were believed to be the center’s first.

The Ozzman has become quite popular in his old age along with wife Sharon who is currently doing a great job on America’s Got Talent. I can remember listening to and enjoying Ozzy over 30 years ago during the Black Sabbath days, a band that went on to have it’s OWN Hall of Fame !! Ozzy has obtained much success including a Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2000 as a part of Black Sabbath for “Iron Man” and getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002, not to mention his own television reality show, he is quite a celebrity and legendary music icon.

This year the Osbournes had decided to make the tickets to Ozzfest free to combat against rising ticket prices and to give something back to the loyal fans that have continued to pack his Festivals for years now.

This was the 17th Ozzfest so far this year and there are 7 left:

  • Post Gazette Pavilion, Pittsburgh, PA – 08/24/2007
  • DTE Energy Music Theatre, Detroit, MI – 08/26/2007
  • Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Charlotte, NC – 08/28/2007

  1. It will not stop Ozzy!

    Hey check this out.

I found this website to compare guitar strings, called Stringlinks.

They don’t sell anything; they just provide a way to compare prices side by side.

The site was created so guitar players could have an easy to use reference of guitar string venders, all in one place.

Just click on a Vender to compare string prices. A new window will open (to their “Strings” page) from each vender; so you don’t lose you place.

    Check it out at

    It’s pretty cool.
